CRIMINAL COURT BUREAU

The Criminal Court Bureau oversees prosecutions of misdemeanors that occur at Brooklyn Criminal Court at 120 Schermerhorn Street. The Unit works closely with other bureaus within the office to ensure that prosecutors assigned to handle misdemeanor cases in criminal court receive appropriate supervision, training, and support. The Unit leadership meets regularly with representatives from the court and defense bar to troubleshoot any systemic problems and to ensure that Brooklyn’s misdemeanor cases are assessed and resolved fairly as the interests of justice and public safety require.
